This installation explores the concept of how much we desire to acquire in this life. It began with a trip to Versailles and the materialism of Louis XIV and his court. It transformed into a piece about living a full life and how too much life and experience can never, ever be enough.

After her puppy chewed up favorites from her animal collection, Mitchell was inspired to make reparations to the figures, making them even better than before… hence the jewels and silk that adorn their improved iteration. As everyone goes through a good bit of damage and repair in this life- this piece relates to that universal experience.
